About Deep South Fly Anglers
Deep South Fly Anglers is owned and operated by Davie Crawford. Davie’s passion for fishing was ignited at an early age, growing up in a fishing family in Northwest GA. From chasing largemouth bass and crappie on Lake Weiss to tackling stripers on the Coosa River and its tributaries, he explored a diverse range of fishing experiences. However, it was the trout fishing trips to the North Georgia Mountains at an early age that fostered Davie’s true love for fly fishing. In 2000, Davie relocated to Kennesaw, Georgia, to attend Kennesaw State University. During his time there, he discovered his passion for tailwater fly fishing on the Toccoa and Chattahoochee Rivers. Following his graduation in 2004, Davie immersed himself in fishing and deepened his knowledge of these rivers. With a master’s degree under his belt and a Chattahoochee River NPS permit in hand, Davie founded Deep South Fly Anglers in 2009, where he started guiding on the Toccoa and Chattahoochee River tailwaters. Davie guides exclusively on the Toccoa River nowadays. Despite having fished waters from Montana to Mexico, he feels most at home floating down the Toccoa River, guiding clients to trout. When he’s not guiding, you can find Davie floating the Toccoa River with his wife Heather pursuing big brown trout.
